Toyin Abraham Woke Up on Somebody Else's Campaign List and Had to Publicly Announce "I Did Not Sign Up For This"

Imagine finding out you're on a committee you never joined, for a cause you never agreed to, on a document you didn't sign, and the only way you find out is because Twitter told you before anybody official did. That's Toyin Abraham's Thursday.

The Lagos APC released its full 2027 Campaign Council list, and tucked inside the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, a whole 33-person lineup that somehow includes Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Akintola, and, for reasons that will never not be funny, Fuji legends Pasuma, Obesere, and Adewale Ayuba all in the same directorate, was Toyin Abraham's name.

One problem: she says nobody asked her.

She went straight to her Instagram Story with the energy of someone removing themselves from a group chat mid-argument: "I'm not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently. I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee."

Now, context matters here. This isn't Toyin being dramatic for nothing. Back in 2023, publicly backing Tinubu cost her real peace, people petitioned Netflix over her films, brands were pressured to drop her, and the attacks went as far as her husband and child. So when her name shows up on an official party document three years later without her say-so, "please disregard" is actually a very restrained response.

And here's the part that makes it funnier and sadder at once: even after her public denial, her name is still sitting right there on the official Lagos APC document. Nobody has quietly deleted it. Nobody has issued a correction. It's the political equivalent of being added back to a group chat immediately after you leave it.

Council inauguration is billed for Friday in Ikeja. Whether Toyin's name still appears when they read out the list out loud is, at this point, basically a free bet.
