Davido's Uncle Defeats Ruling Party Saturday, Joins Its Campaign Sunday, Sets New African Record
Osun voters reportedly went to bed after defeating the ruling party and woke up to discover their mandate had joined its WhatsApp campaign group. Guinness officials are studying the 24-hour pivot, though INEC insists it is still calculating the vibes.

The Guinness World Records has been notified of a new continental benchmark after Governor Ademola Adeleke completed the fastest opposition-to-endorsement pivot in recorded democratic history: approximately 24 hours between collecting a mandate against the APC and donating that mandate to the APC's president. Athletes train for years to achieve this kind of turnaround speed. Adeleke did it between church and Sunday jollof.
The sequence deserves preservation in a museum. On Saturday, 511,067 citizens of Osun stood under the sun, defied vote buyers, survived BVAS glitches, and voted for the Accord Party, many of them specifically to reject the ruling establishment. By Sunday evening, their governor had gathered all 511,067 votes into a gift bag, tied a ribbon on it, and presented it to President Tinubu as the Accord Party's adopted 2027 presidential candidate. The voters went to the polls as the opposition. They woke up as the government. Nobody moved. The parties did.
This is, of course, the great genius of Nigerian political physics, which The National Cake's science desk has now formalized as Adeleke's Law: every Nigerian politician, regardless of initial velocity or party of origin, will eventually accelerate toward the centre of power at a rate proportional to the size of federal allocation. The law has never been falsified. It cannot be falsified. Falsifying it requires principle, which remains an imported product with poor exchange rates.
To be fair to His Excellency, there is precedent. This is a man who has now won governorship elections on two different party platforms, confirming what analysts have long suspected: Adeleke is not in a party. Adeleke is the party. The logo changes; the dance remains.
Meanwhile, opposition leaders planning a grand 2027 alliance have reportedly gone quiet, having just watched their newest success story defect to the opponent while still wearing his victory garland. Building an opposition coalition in Nigeria, they are learning, is like fetching water in a basket, every election you win immediately files for transfer.
At press time, the APC had not commented, mostly because it no longer knows which parties it contains.
